One hundred thousand sent to a fake account: how Yaroslav Hryshyn’s company purchased components for “General Chereshnya” via Telegram

This became known from criminal proceedings opened by the police under Part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code.

On October 25, 2024, a procurement manager at LLC “CUSR” (Center for Unmanned Systems Research), through the DRONE BAZAR UA Telegram channel, reached an agreement with a person who introduced himself under a fictitious name to purchase 33 SpeedyBee V4 60A stacks at a price of UAH 3,050 each, for a total amount of UAH 100,650.

The seller assured the manager that the goods were in stock and would be shipped via "Nova Poshta" with cash on delivery. On October 28, the manager inspected the goods at a "Nova Poshta" branch in Zaporizhzhia, confirmed that the shipment was complete, and asked the seller to send an invoice for payment. An invoice was sent in the name of a sole proprietor (FOP) with fictitious details.

After the funds were transferred from the settlement account of LLC “CUSR,” the seller was supposed to cancel the cash-on-delivery payment so that the buyer could collect the goods. However, after receiving the payment, the fraudster deleted the Telegram correspondence and stopped responding to messages and phone calls.

It was later established that the person who had presented himself as the seller and the sole proprietor (FOP) associated with him had no connection to the actual senders of the goods, while the payment for the goods never reached the genuine suppliers.

In other words, the managers of LLC “CUSR” decided to purchase the products without documentary confirmation.
